This weekend was a very special weekend for UK Health Radio.   The Alliance for Natural Health put on a two day even at the London Hilton Metropole entitled Healthcare Crisis – Brick Wall or window of opportunity and we were there!

Robin Daly, the Chairman of Yes to Life, along with Dr Robert Verkerk, the executive and scientific director of the Alliance for Natural Health and Robert Scott Bell a presenter and broadcaster with a homeopathic background who broadcasts daily in the USA on NaturalNews Radio and on UK Health Radio in the UK opened the think tank Summit and welcomed an enthusiastic and committed audience of health and other professionals.

Dr Robert Verkerk who gave a fascinating talk on excessive drug dependency and conflicting healthcare paradigms and information.  Dr Robin Youngson spoke on compassion and empathy in healthcare while Vivienne Lyfar-Cisse gave a very thought provoking talk on the inequalities faced by Black and Minority ethnic groups within the NHS.

A fascinating talk by Smriti Singh looked at allocating healthcare budgets by way of patient controlled personal budgets and Dr Vijayendra Murthy asked how can we better evaluate clinical practice, outcomes and experience?

Also tackling communication Michael Ash gave a talk entitled Listening to the science with deaf ears with Ben van Ommen spoke on how system flexibility changes medicine to personalised healthcare.

Dr Jonathan Wright spoke of his experience in practicing lifestyle medicine, which he has done for the past 45 years while Prof Karol Sikora spoke on the need for flexibility in clinical practice aimed at optimising outcomes.

Oncologist Ralph Moss MD addressed the meeting on insights on cost-effective patient centre Oncology while GP Rangan Chaterjee compared conventional and functional medicine in clinical practice models.

The second day of the conference was given over to Practitioner Master classes.   The first was from Dr Jonathan Wright who spoke about detecting and reversing diabetes before it happens and looked at men’s and women’s health and the common problems that modern day patients suffer from such as heart disease and thyroid problems.

Robert Scott Bell, sponsored by the Natural Immunogenics Corp gave a fascinating talk with practical training on immune support and recovery protocols based on the use of Bio-Active Silver Hydrosol as well as whole food nutrients and homeopathy.

Talking of food the even was catered by Bite the Sun a unique digital health empowerment initiative developed in response to the global degenerative disease crisis to spearhead change for people and communities on a global scale.  The team including Adele Wolstenhulme, who will be studying a hunter-gatherer community in the Amazon for the next three and a half weeks produced the most delicious food I have ever eaten!

There is no doubt that our UK Health Radios Johann Ilgenfritz and John Hicks made a massive contribution with their sound and recording support and the event was a huge success.  There is a different future for health care out there, and this weekend I was privileged to see it.
