Chris became a family caregiver when his now decease partner, Richard Schiffer was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2011. Out of this experience, Chris has written a powerful and compelling book, “What’s The Deal with Caregiving?” and continues to be an advocate for Caregivers through his blog and Healing Ties Podcast.
Chris’ mission is to help caregivers share their story and to help heal from the loss of a loved one, just like so many family caregivers did for him when Richard made his life transition. When we create Healing Ties with each other, we find three components that every caregiver needs: 1. Validation 2. Resources 3. Respite. On Healing Ties, we want to go beyond caregiving, and learn how you are caring for yourself, for your family, your community, and the strangers you meet.
