CHARITIES/NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION
The Ginger Cat House Refuge and Rehome Surry UK – In the heart of Epsom, Surrey, one woman has quietly dedicated her life to some of the most vulnerable and overlooked members of our community cats in crisis. June Fraser runs the Ginger Cat Rescue and Rehome Centre, a sanctuary for pregnant cats, abandoned strays, abused animals and any feline in need of love and safety.
June always says she could not do this work without the help of her team of volunteers/foster carers and of course Lee who she calls her rock.
What makes June’s work so remarkable is not only the scale of her compassion but the determination with which she pursues it. Ginger Cat Rescue operates entirely on self-funding and the generosity of its supporters. Every bag of food, every veterinary bill, every warm bed is made possible by donations from the public and June’s tireless efforts to raise awareness.
The rescue follows a strict no-kill policy. No cat is ever euthanised unless it is suffering beyond hope. This ethos ensures that each animal is given not only shelter and medical attention but the time, patience and affection it needs to heal and ultimately find a forever home. Cats who may otherwise have been left behind those who are elderly, traumatised, or with special needs are given the same dedication and chance at life as the most adoptable kitten.
June’s compassion extends beyond the cats themselves. She understands that behind many rescues there are human stories of hardship, grief, or financial difficulty. For this reason, Ginger Cat Rescue also offers advice and support to owners in need, helping them make the best choices for their animals while offering a listening ear and practical guidance.
This work is not just a project or hobby for June Frazer it is her life. She dedicates every day, often every hour, to the cats in her care. Whether she is bottle-feeding new-born kittens through the night, liaising with vets, or matching cats with new families, her commitment is absolute.
Through her vision and perseverance, hundreds of cats have been rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed, while countless more have been supported through her guidance. June Frazer is more than the heart of Ginger Cat Rescue; she is a lifeline for the cats of Epsom and beyond and her selfless dedication deserves recognition.
