CUT THE CRAP ASK THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER ABOUT YOUR HEALTH

CUT THE CRAP ASK THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER ABOUT YOUR HEALTH
MIKE DILKE – THE RELAXBACK UK SHOW ON UK HEALTH RADIO

It is seven years ago that I started asking my guests health related questions on The Relaxback UK Show. I feel privileged to have spoken with some very distinguished and knowledgeable people – in fact I have loved it so much that I have written a book with many of their answers.

I have spoken with experts who are at the top of their game on topics ranging from nutrition, exercise, cannabis medication, long covid and many more.

It is vital to ask critical questions of those trying to sell you anything that they say you need for your health. More people are getting health information online. More information can be good but a lot of it is misleading or dangerous. The snake oil salesman is alive and well and you need to protect yourself and your loved ones.

The main objective of this book is to give the reader the confidence to ‘Cut The Crap’ and ask health questions of themselves and their health adviser whether that is an alternative therapist, a GP, a surgeon, a physiotherapist, a dentist, a nutritionist – anyone who is giving health advice of any sort.

‘Cut The Crap’ will help you do that and also pass on advice from experts. You get help and advice on….

  • Home remedies from Dr Zoe Williams
  • Using CBD products to help with sport recovery from ex England rugby international, George Kruis
  • How to take on physical challenges from Olympian Professor Greg Whyte
  • A cancer diagnosis from Dr Liz O’Riordan, a breast cancer surgeon who herself got breast cancer
  • Overcoming sporting injury from ex professional footballer Hal Robson Kanu
  • Supplements from Which? Magazine reporter Shefalee Loth
  • Avoiding the ‘always on’ culture from lawyer and internet sensation Henry Nelson Case
  • How to stop procrastinating and start exercising from Shaa Wasmund
  • Using cannabis medication to help control chronic pain
  • The possible future of digital health
  • How to do your best in physical and mental tests from a brain surgeon
  • What to be wary of when getting nutrition advice
  • Overcoming pain from world renowned pain doctor

And much moreget your copy of Cut The Crap Ask The Questions That Matter About Your Health

I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

THE WORD ON CUT THE CRAP
Mike is a great asset to the health and wellness space. He comes from a well informed position while having the insight of a general consumer. He is therefore able to ask the right questions and still maintain a sceptical eye on answers that may not be fully informed by science. Many healthcare podcasts will have big name guests who are promoting very niche expertise that are not always evidence based or fully informed by research. Unfortunately the presenters of these podcasts are not able to question or critique their guests advice because they do not have an understanding of the subject matter. Mike is able to differentiate fact from fiction, inviting guests with true expertise and asking the right questions to make the advice given practical for everyday people. This book will be useful to many people and will offer great insights while being practical and accessible.
– Sophie Medlin – consultant dietitian, regular media contributor

‘We have never had easier access to vast amounts of health information and yet many people remain confused about their health. What exactly is good health? Is this different from wellness? Can pills really cure all ills or can they be avoided by lifestyle changes? In this fascinating book, Mike Dilke draws on his huge experience of talking to the public and health professionals on his podcast and radio show to try to filter out what’s really important for our health from what may simply be a waste of time. In his own words, he tries to ‘Cut the Crap’ out of the modern world and its impact on our health, both physical and mental. Well-written, thought-provoking and with something in it for everyone, this book should be essential reading for anyone who wants to get answers about common health questions, know what questions to ask their doctor, or who just may want to find out if their lifestyle is really as healthy as they think it is!’
– Dr Roger Henderson – GP, social media presenter

When I spoke with Mike he asked insightful questions and we had a useful wide ranging discussion. I am confident this book will promote similar conversations on the topic areas it covers.
– George Kruis – Co-founder of fourfive, former professional rugby union player, England international

Being a part of The Relaxback UK Show was a wonderful experience, and I’m honoured to have contributed to the discussions. The platform’s dedication to promoting well-being aligns seamlessly with The Turmeric Co.’s mission to provide natural and holistic solutions for a healthier life. I’m excited about the future prospects that lie ahead for both our company and the listeners seeking wellness inspiration.
– Thomas Robson-Kanu – Founder, CEO The Turmeric Co, former professional footballer, Welsh international

I was honoured to be a guest at Mike’s Relaxback UK health Show and have been an avid listener ever since when I get a chance. High quality radio shows that really relay information rather than opinion and advertisement are scarce, and Mike’s curiosity and knowledge across a wide spectrum of health issues make him and his show rare gems in public radio. The wide variety of guests cover more topics than you ever knew you wanted to know about – but then you do!
