Presenter

Dr James K. Tibenderana is a malaria and public health expert, with over 20 years of experience in the fields of epidemiology, infectious and tropical diseases and health system strengthening. Ugandan-born, he trained as a medical doctor at Makerere University, Kampala and as an epidemiologist at Institute of Public Health, University of Cambridge and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.  James was appointed Chief Executive of Malaria Consortium, a global health charity, in 2022, having joined

Marking World Malaria Day, Malaria Consortium hosts a discussion with global experts from the public, private and philanthropic sectors to explore what’s needed for the world to eliminate a disease that impacts millions of people worldwide and particularly affects pregnant women and young children. With guest speakers; Chukwu Okoronkwo from the National Malaria Elimination Programme for Nigeria, Dr Salif Sow, Mastercard Foundation’s Director of Health based in Senegal, Vivian Amenorpe, Policy and Advocacy Officer for the Youth SDG Summit based in Ghana, and Luke Freeman, Executive Director of Giving What We Can based in Australia.
